Just a quick note on the server status. We will be moving to a new location probably over night tonight or tomorrow night. We got a message from our host letting us know that not only had we over run our bandwidth limits for the last 3 months, but we also have exceeded the actual server space capacity with the forums (it's mostly uploaded images).
For now, we have removed old uploaded photos from before January 1 of 2007, and then we moved the remaining images location to a new spot. Hopefully, the imminent server move will help all of our space and capacity issues, and keep us growing.
And for anyone contemplating advertising on DirtOval.com, now is the time to do it, because after January 1, 2008, our ad banner prices will be going up to match comparable sites with similar traffic and readership. It's inevitable with the growth of the site, and it's been too long to run this site out of pocket. For this site to grow any further in 2008, we will need to continue to bring in new advertisers and possibly have open pledge drives to keep everything running. And that includes sales of T-shirt, decals and other DirtOval.com swag.
Growth is a good thing. In this case, it can also be a bit painful to get to a good, comfortable point.
