Default Redneck RC 2008-2009 Season Opener

We will begin our 2008-2009 Indoor Season on Sunday, October 5th. This will mark the 4th consecutive indoor season in the dungeon. Last year racers saw many changes to the dungeon, including newly painted walls, new sound system and speaker placement, and a new pit room with benches/power. Currently, we are resecuring the track walls to the floor, rebuilding the infield, and applying new clay to the track. If for some reason there is a delay and we have to push the start of the season back a week, I will make an announcement here. Here are the classes you can expect for this indoor season:

-1/18 Losi Stock Slider
-1/18 Losi Stock Latemodel
-1/10 Sprint
-1/10 Small Block Truck
-1/10 Big Block Truck
-1/10 EDM Small Block
-1/10 EDM Big Block
-1/10 EDM Big Block Mod
-1/10 Open Novice Class

There have been questions about running Mod Slider, Mod Slider Latemodel, 1/10 Latemodels and 1/10 Losi Spec Sprint. Please see Further down the post for details on that. Also, we have never turned racers away. As long as there are 3 or 4 of any class, we will run them.

Rules for the classes are as follows:

-Losi Slider Stock Class (Stock Motor, stock tires, Losi, Reedy, Dynamite, or SMC 1500 or less Battery, Ball diffs and aluminum shocks only)

-Losi Mini Late Model Class (Same rules as above)

-1/10 Sprints. We will be using the JRC Sprint car rules, so all Custom Works, JRC, Hyperdrive/Go Fast, and Klein Sprint cars can be used. Foam Tires, 13.5 Brushless Motors, 19 turn brushed motors, 7.4V Lipos allowed (5000 mah max), as well as Nimh's. We encourage the use of hardshell lipos (such as those by Reedy, Peak Racing, Orion, and SMC) Cars must weigh 3 lbs 4 oz.

-1/10 Trucks. There will be seperate classes for big block and small block. Foam or rubber tires, Brushless 13.5 will be allowed in Big Block, Small Block must use 17.5 Motors. Hardshell 7.4V Lipos (5000 mah max) and Nimh's (4600 max) are allowed. Trucks must have truck arms, truck tires, truck body (either stock style (Proline, Losi, etc) or oval style such as CDK, McAllister, etc). Offset chassis are allowed. Trucks must weigh 3 lbs 12 oz.

-EDM Small Block - WDRA body, chassis and tire rules, 4600max Nimh battery, 3800 max 7.4V hard case Lipo, Novak 17.5 Brushless or 27 Stock Motor. No other 17.5 motors allowed. These rules are subject to change in efforts to comply to the WDRA as closely as possible.

-EDM Big Block - WDRA Rules Apply for chassis, tires, bodies, weight. We will allow both 17.5 Brushless motors and 27 Turn Brushed motors in this class. Motors must be based on either LRP, TOP, Epic or Novak motors. 4600 max nimh's, 5000 max 7.4V Lipos. Hardshell Lipos are encouraged, however I do know of a few people who have purchased the now discontinued SMC Lipos which are only shrink wrapped, and those will be allowed. All lipos must be car oriented (meaning made by/sold by Reedy, LRP, Peak Racing, Orion, Trinity, SMC, Fantom, Pro-match Racing, Venom Racing, etc). These rules are subject to change in efforts to comply to the WDRA as closely as possible.

-EDM 13.5 Brushless/ 19T Brushed - WDRA rules apply for chassis, tires, bodies, and weight. We will allow any Novak, Top, LRP, or Trinity based 13.5 brushless motor in this class. All 19T motors must be Fixed Timing. Nimh (4600 max) and 7.4V Lipos (5000 max) will be allowed. Hardshell Lipos are encouraged, however I do know of a few people who have purchased the now discontinued SMC Lipos which are only shrink wrapped, and those will be allowed. All lipos must be car oriented (meaning made by/sold by Reedy, LRP, Peak Racing, Orion, Trinity, SMC, Fantom, Pro-match Racing, etc). These rules are subject to change in efforts to comply to the WDRA as closely as possible.

-1/10 Open Novice class. This is a run whatever entry level class. Cars or trucks must be 1/10 electric hobby grade vehicles, must have either 27 turn stock, 17.5 brushless or rtr kit motor, unmatched stick pack (Duratrax shark for example), foam or rubber street tires, and a body (truck, buggy, EDM, whatever). This class is geared for beginners who are just getting into the hobby.

As many of you know, we try to follow WDRA Rules as close as possible, however, our season begins several months before that of the WDRA, so hopefully the rules for the EDM Classes and the JRC Sprint Series can be comprimised by both series and all tracks involved.

Entry fee will be $10. Racers may run up to 2 classes (so its $10 if you run 2 classes, or $10 if you run 1). Racers may run unlimited classes for $15. However, drivers in Big Block may not run in Small Block EDM or Open Novice, and drivers in sportsman may not run in Big Block EDM or Open Novice.

Friday Night Racing:

We have had a number of racers express interest in Friday Night Racing. As you all know, Sundays we get huge turnouts and it makes for a long day, and we get many racers from all over the state, including Albany and Buffalo/Lockport. Our goal is to try and get racing finished on Sundays early enough for these guys to get home at a reasonable time Sunday evening/night. It was proposed to us that we make Friday Nights a Sprint car oriented show, running the following classes:

1/18 Stock Slider
1/18 Mod Slider
1/18 Stock Latemodel
1/18 Mod Latemodel
1/10 Losi Spec Sprint
1/10 Open Sprint
1/10 Truck (combined small block/big block)
1/10 Latemodel (19 Turn/13.5 Max, 5000mah 7.4V Max)

The rules would remain the same for all classes. Rules for the Losi Spec sprint will follow the WDRA/National Rule Listing.

The track is located at:
