Default Traxxas Slash Modified Tips & Tricks

Finally got a "Tips & Tricks" guide done on Allen's site. This one is for the Traxxas Slash in the Modified class here at Allen's. Explains some basic tuning as well as gives a recommended starting point for shocks, camber, and gearing. Basically the way Allen's car is set up.

Thanks Chris, the Set-Up Tips & Tricks section is a nice feature and very informative. Will give it a try. Just one question. The internal spacer, .350" (slightly more than 1/4") can I just use a piece of fuel tubing or cut a guide tube to that size?

That should work just fine, but might be a little harder to be as precise as regular spacers. The RJ Speed spacers are easy and usually on the wall at Allen's which is why I recommended them. As long as you can get something in there that is solid and measures about .350 you should be ok.

This "tips and tricks" set-up information for the Slash oval is the real deal. Chris has done a great job of telling you exactly what needs to be done to get your car where it needs to be to run up front in this class. This is what the "fast guys" are doing.

If your Slash modified is not competitive with this set-up, it's the drivers fault.
Well done Chris!

Well done Chris!

I finally broke down and followed Chris's setup guide. I set my slash up exactly how Chris stated to do using Kuhmo tires. I qualified 3rd over all and won both heat races. Started the a-main in the 2nd position. All though I choked badly and finished 6th, my slash has never ran so good and fast. Thanks for making the setup guide Chris. As Tom said, if your not competitive with the setup, its on you.

Some of it might such as camber and the basic concept, but they are different vehicles so I doubt all of it translates.
