'Allo Mates. Arnold 'AC' Hauswald here. Not sure if my backyard grass track oval is a fit for this forum or not. If not, please advise, and I will bow out without further posts.

Old guy here. Been around motorsports for going on 60 years and rc for 20. Began late last fall creating a backyard oval to run my electric stadium trucks. Have run practice sessions and a test session. Am looking at a season opener next weekend. I'm like the only guy running and only one ST on the oval at a time for timed laps.

Regards. AC

A lot has happened on the back yard track since posting here a year ago. Now on the third iteration of a rules package, and likewise a third season of running. Track is 16 x 40ft 1/10 scale "short" 1/4 mile oval. More like a scale 3/16+ oval. Class is Stadium Truck Open. Battery spec is 2s x 4600 7.4v LiPo. Trucks 'spec' their respective set-ups at annual tech inspection and, within allowable variation, must race that set-up for the season. Power units approved are one 21.5 (with waivered 2s x 4600 7.6v HV LiPo), four 17.5 and one lone 13.5 FT.

Racing season is staggered from the calendar year. Season begins first day of Fall (Sep 20th this year) and extends through Memorial Day 2021 (May 30, 2021). Series runs a "Las Vegas Qualifier", e.g., qualifying and grid determined by a playing card draw. Trucks run individually on track for time. Top four qualifying trucks make the main. Bottom two trucks in qualifying are held in 'race reserve'. Event is timed and scored, having a 4-Lap Trophy Dash and a 10-Lap Feature. Timing is by manual stop watch.

Coming back to this forum to get oval track set-up tips now that the trucks have established a base line of performance. Time to begin tuning to shave 'tenths of seconds' off the times. Cheers. 'AC'
